DHL Express GTW & HQ Sofia

The subject of this project is the erection, ready for use, of a new DHL branch as an investor solution on a site within the municipal area of Sofia, in the area of Sofia Airport.
The building is functionally adapted to the combined requirements of transshipment operations. The delivery of shipments takes place day and night at the long-distance gates via HGVs with a maximum overall weight of 40 t (max wheel loading 7,5 t).

The DHL Express buildings for transshipment and delivery of mail are divided into 2 functional areas  terminal and office building. The terminal itself is divided into the Core Body and the PuD Fingers.

Terminal

Core body, with mainly linehaul docks, distribution of shipments, partially with conveyor technology, building additionally suitable for dangerous goods handling. PuD Fingers, as an area suitable for PuD activities (Pickup and Delivery), partially with conveyor technology only with Van docks.

Office building

Social/administration area, attached to the terminal. All necessary space for the accommodation of staff, according to the numbers of employees = 247 (74 Women /173 Men ), and visitors (up to 10% of staff).
